Large Japanese bowl for ramen noodles.

These Japanese bowls (also called Oobachi, literally: large bowl), both hollow and flared, are a kind of mixture between the bowl and the plate. This allows it to be used for soups, Udons, Ramen, Sobas, ... but also for dishes based on rice, vegetables and meat or fish. They are much more practical than a plate for mixing and keeping the dish warm.

It is an essential and very practical element of Japanese tableware.
