Osaka Castle (Osaka-jo, formerly pronounced Ozaka-jo) is one of Japan''s most famous castles. He played a major role during the unification of Japan in the sixteenth century during one of the last major revolts against the Tokugawa, repressed during the sieges of Osaka in 1614 and 1615.
