Furoshiki (風呂敷) is a traditional Japanese technique of folding a fabric used for use as a means of carrying clothing, gifts, bento, etc.

An eco-responsible way to wrap what you need to transport and is a perfect replacement for gift wrap.

Its shape is traditionally rectangular but is currently most often square. We find them made from all kinds of fabrics, such as cotton, silk, nylon...

The size of the furoshiki varies depending on the use you want to make of it:

  • - 45 cm side: for wrapping money (holidays or funerals),
  • - 50 or 52 cm side: to carry a bento box or wrap small gifts,
  • - 68, 70 or 75 cm side: most adaptable for wrapping gifts,
  • - 90 cm side: to wrap a bottle, a book or make a small bag,
  • - 105 or 118 cm side: the most adaptable for making bags,
  • - 128 or 140 cm side: for packing clothes or making a large picnic basket,
  • - 150 cm side: for transporting or packaging a bulky object,
  • - 175 or 195 or 230 cm side: to transport futons and duvets for example for a move.

You see a bat spreading its wings when the furoshiki is unfolded. It turns out that a bat hangs from your arm when used as a bag. Store candy with a furoshiki tote bag. The color combination is chic and clumsy for everyday use.

Please iron from the outside to achieve a waterproof backing. It will be waterproofed again.

AQUA DROP A practical Furoshiki for outdoors and rainy days with "water-repellent treatment" This packaging repels water thanks to its "water-repellent coating" on the surface which will protect important bags and luggage from sudden rain. It can also be used as a simple leisure seat or tablecloth. When the water-repellent effect weakens, simply apply an iron (medium temperature) and the water-repellent effect will return.

Meibutsu-gire (名物裂), the great fabric selections of ancient times are represented through these patterns. They were favored by the tea masters of the time. A two vertical knot tying method is recommended for this particular Furoshiki. You can enjoy the different colors and patterns displayed in 4 directions.

Koetsu Chirimen "Chirimen" has a distinct unevenness to the touch. It is popular and considered a common expression of Japan and Furoshiki. This series is 100% polyester and washable at home. This design represents a motif of the four seasons. One can enjoy this Furoshiki design wrapped or open.
