At the end of the Taisho era, older brother Hyakutaro and younger brother Riichi started making socks in Banshu (Kato City). The younger company then settled in Osaka and Fukushima and became independent in 1925. It was in 1944 and the addition of a new factory that large-scale sock manufacturing began in Ashiya.
